In their decisive final group match, Switzerland defeated co-hosts Canada 2-1 in Vancouver, securing first place in Group B. After a goalless first half, Ruben Vargas opened the scoring immediately after the restart, before Johan Manzambi added another in the 57th minute, scoring and assisting to become the standout player of the evening. Canada pulled one back through Promise David, but Switzerland withstood the late pressure and held on for the victory. Despite the loss, Canada also advanced to the knockout stage.
